Abstract
In this dissertation we study a system of non-degenerate electrons in contact with a phonon reservoir. We determine the electrical and thermal conductivity as well as the thermofacer and Peltier coefficients and electric current in a magnetic field of a system of non-degenerate electrons in contact with a phonon reservoir at a temperature greater than the Debye temperature. In order to determine the irreversible coefficients we must know the Green's function of the transport equation describing the time development of the process. We use this Green's function along with Kubo type formulas to determine the coefficients. We find that the Green's function at very high and very low temperatures can be written in terms of two relaxation times for electron velocities much greater than that of sound. We compare the results of this model with those of the degenerate system. We also compare the structure of the rate equation of the Brownian motion system with that of non-degenerate system.
