Abstract
Hoarding disorder (HD) is a new diagnostic category in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM‐5). The disorder is characterised by persistent difficulty discarding possessions due to a perceived need to save and/or distress associated with discarding, which results in significant clutter in the home (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
